Abstract:
Automorphism groups of free groups have many properties in common with linear groups. For example, they are virtually torsion-free, have finite vcd, and satisfy the Tits alternative. Right-angled Artin groups interpolate between free groups and free abelian groups. Which of these properties are shared by the automorphism groups of all right-angled Artin groups? I will report on some recent results with Karen Vogtmann.
