Director of CAISS, the Center of Algorithms and Interactive Scientific Software at CCNY, Organizer of the New York Group Theory Seminar (20 seminars a year), perhaps the foremost research seminar in group theory in the world, organizer of many international group theory meetings, organizer of the CAISS lectures of the Grove School of Engineering and the Division of Science (2 per year)

Research
Currently working on research into combinatorial group theory, interface design, zero learning curve software including a package for statistics, new games based on group theory and the involvement of high school students and undergraduates in research. Over 150 research papers, 2 books, 2 monographs.
