Abstract: I will discuss a number of problems in the area of free group automorphisms and cyclic extensions of free groups, with an emphasis on algorithmic questions. Both the word problem and the conjugacy problem in cyclic extensions of free groups have seen progress over the past few years; I will discuss how these developments relate to some of the remaining fundamental decision problems, such as the isomorphism problem and the membership problem.
